It was a strange winter. Cold, but apart from two or three days, it was snow-free. A blackbird spent the winter on the balcony, where it found food, drink and a place to sleep. He didn't let anything bother him either.
The first thing I did after getting up was to go to the frozen water bowl to make it accessible to the bird again. He would occasionally watch and wait a meter away so he could drink. Today, February 20th, it was sunny and he sang properly for the first time. I can only tell you about it because making a recording of it wasn't a priority. As soon as he starts singing, I make sure not to go get any equipment, but rather stand right next to him and listen as he provokes the first feeling of spring and coming warmth.
