We refer to everyday life as a series of circumstances, situations, and moments that repeat themselves in one way or another and are predictable. Familiar territory, such as everyday work life. One could also call it routine. We usually refer to things that aren't special, that don't spectacularly deviate from the usual circumstances.
Yet everyday life can certainly be something that we shape ourselves to a certain extent and fill with meaning. Individual moments that may be inconspicuous, but are perceived as special.
I have a special interest in everyday life and how our perception of it can be changed through directed attention and curiosity. Mountains, which we see every day, can appear different from day to day depending on the light and weather. Colors are constantly changing, and everything natural is subject to constant transformation. Just a month ago, our everyday environment was completely different, considering, for example, the stage of vegetation development, the temperatures, or the lighting conditions. Even the birdlife, which receives a very large part of my attention, appears completely different today than it did four weeks ago.
The photos in today's post show my form of everyday life: a selection of nine moments from the past two weeks that I spent approaching an otherwise familiar environment with mindfulness and appreciation.
